What I have written is only a small part of my memories, which I can put into words. Only thanks to the help of Divine Providence, which saved us - I truly believe in it - I survived this ordeal and can talk about it today. But my fate is just a drop of water in the ocean of enormous suffering of people, especially children, who experienced the nightmare of deportation to Russia. With my own eyes I saw the death of many of my countrymen and a multitude of Polish graves scattered across the vast areas of the USSR. I bow my head over these graves, which no longer exist, because the bodies of the deceased became prey for hyenas and jackals. And above all, I beg God that this human tragedy will never happen again.
